Search for Missing O'side Teen Ends

The search for a missing 14-year-old Oceanside girl came to an end Monday afternoon, after a passerby recognized her and called police.

A citizen, using the Oceanside Public Library, recognized 14-year-old Makaylia Williams from her photos.

When officers arrived, they found Williams in the company of a 24-year-old man. It appears that Williams left home on her own, but police say they still plan to question Williams and the man she was with.

Williams, was last seen leaving an apartment on Marquette Street Sunday at 6:22 p.m. Williams was carrying a bag of trash to take to a dumpster in the alley police said.

When her mother noticed she had not returned an hour later, she called police to report her missing.

Twenty officers launched a grid search of the neighborhood and located a bag of trash near the apartment with its contents strewn on the ground.

The bag of trash was later identified by the mother as the bag Makaylia was carrying.

Williams was unharmed, when she was found by police.
