Authorities are trying to track down a pedophile with a long criminal history who faxed prison to let everyone know he just didn't want to be supervised.
Charles Thomas was convicted of sexual exploitation of children in 1995 and sentenced to 20 years in prison. The U.S. Marshal's Office says Thomas molested children since the early 1970s and has a record of drug possession, rape and evading a police officer in a stolen car.
Thomas was released from prison into San Diego County in January and placed on parole. He sent the fax to the prison he was just released from and then failed to register as a sex offender. He is 67 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds, and has blue eyes and gray hair. He has mutliple aliases, including David J. Cohen, Mark D. McKinney and Steve Miller.
