San Ysidro Outage Leaves 3,000+ Without Power

The cause of the outage is under investigation

An unplanned outage left more than 3,000 households without power in parts of San Ysidro Saturday.

San Diego Gas & Electric reported the power outage just before 1:30 p.m. The company said the outage was impacting parts of Nester, San Ysidro and Otay Mesa, and, at its peak, had left 3,250 customers without power.

SDG&E expected to have power fully restored to residents by 4 p.m.

By 3:40 p.m., approximately 500 customers remained without power.

SDG&E is trying to determine the cause of the outage.
