A San Diego police (SDPD) officer was taken to the hospital after his car slammed into a van, police confirmed.
The collision happened at approximately 10:28 p.m. on Beyer Boulevard and Dairy Mart Road in San Ysidro, just north of the U.S.-Mexico border, according to police.
Authorities said the officer was driving eastbound on Dairy Mart Road when he t-boned crashed with a van.
The driver of the van, a man, was not injured.
The officer suffered a wrist injury and was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
Police said alcohol or drugs appear not to be a factor in the crash.
Traffic going northbound on Dairy Mart Road was shut down as officers investigated.
