San Diego Police Officer Injured in East Village

A San Diego police officer was taken to a hospital after he was injured in a fight with a suspect early Wednesday.

Officers were called to Park Boulevard just after 1 a.m. to check on the welfare of a man. 

When they arrived and talked with the man, the man fought with one of the officers. 

Both the man and the officer were injured in the altercation. 

City News Service is reporting officers used a stun gun to restrain the man after he had punched an officer in the face. 

The man was arrested on suspicion of battery on a peace officer, resisting arrest and making criminal threats, according to CNS.
