Local law enforcement officers are investigating a shooting in Lakeside that may have targeted a San Diego County sheriff’s deputy.
The deputy notified his supervisors he had been shot at near the corner of Beechtree Street and Pino Drive in Lakeside around 1:44 a.m. Monday.
The deputy was not injured.
Officials including El Cajon police and the California Highway Patrol helped deputies set up a perimeter and began a search.
