Quick allegedly attempted to sell the stolen items at nearby pawn shops however police and college official were able to identify the cameras through serial numbers, according to those close to the investigation.

On Monday, campus police retrieved two of the stolen cameras and on Wednesday, they took Quick  into custody.

“We are saddened and disappointed to learn that the theft of college property was traced to a longtime District employee”, said Anthony Beebe, President of San Diego College.

Because the accused is a staff member, Castaneda said she will be asking that campus police provide extra security for students and staff, for fear of possible retaliation.
