Of the roughly 13,000 accepted, their SAT scores and high school GPAs are also record setting for the university.

Together they have an average 3.69 GPA, 800 new students have two-part SAT scores over 1300 and 22 freshman have two-part SAT scores over 1500.

Among the graduate students there are three National Science Foundation Fellows, four international Fulbright Fellows, 5 campus Fulbright Fellows, and 20 Presidential Graduate Research Fellows.

New faculty this year come from Princeton, Yale, and UC Berkeley among other prestigious institutions.

The university also added two new graduate degrees: an M.S. degree in kinesiology and a Ph.D in Interdisciplinary Research on Substance Use.

The Weber Honors College, which was officially endowed last semester, will admit its first batch of minds this fall.

The 245 new students will learn multiple disciplines, how to think flexibly, and to pursue the creative expression of ideas.

It is made up of small, discussion based seminars that encourage participation.
