Organizers say the San Diego State and Syracuse men's basketball teams will play in the inaugural "Battle on the Midway" game on the flight deck of the USS Midway Museum on Nov. 9.
The NCAA game will take place aboard the flight deck and be broadcast live nationally at 4 p.m. as part of a series of Veteran’s Day events in San Diego.
“We are very excited to be participating in the Battle on the Midway,” SDSU head coach Steve Fisher said in a statement. “We look forward to bringing the focus of the nation to the military, the city and San Diego State University with this wonderful event."
The Midway has been berthed on San Diego Bay since 2004.
Event details, schedules, and ticket information will become available by Memorial Day weekend.
