SDSU Graduation Ceremonies Begin

College students walk the line to receive their degrees

San Diego State University held some of its first commencement ceremonies today at Viejas Arena.

There were about 2,000 college students graduating from the College of Arts & Letters and the College of Health & Human Services.

Despite the ominous job market ahead of them, many said they felt optimistic about their future.

"Right now, I'm finishing up my internship at the World Trade Center and hopefully, I'll get my foot in the door," said International Business major, Elena Aguirre.

Sociology major, Chris Williams, has a job lined up with Nike already.

"I actually got a position offered from corporate in Oregon, so I'll be moving up there soon. I'll be in the social marketing division. I get to blog, I get to travel, I get to interview, promote for Nike."

SDSU's ceremonies will continue until Sunday.
