SDSU heads to their first bowl game in 12 years

Ryan Lindley threw four touchdown passes to lead bowl-bound San Diego State to a 48-14 win over UNLV on Saturday in its regular-season finale.

San Diego State (8-4, 5-3 Mountain West) finished with its most wins in 14 seasons and will play in its first bowl game since 1998.

Lindley completed 22 of 30 passes for 338 yards. The junior threw TD passes of 41 and 50 yards to DeMarco Sampson, a 17-yarder to Brandon Sullivan and a 3-yard pass to Vincent Brown.

Ronnie Hillman, who scored on a 10-yard dash, ran for 152 yards on 19 carries to break the conference record for rushing yards by a freshman with 1,304 this season.

Kyle Watkins had the only offensive score for the Rebels (2-10, 2-6) on a 27-yard pass from Omar Clayton. UNLV's other TD came when Mike Clausen carried a fumble recovery 54 yards with about a minute left.
