A woman who was found dead in Little Italy with traumatic injuries that police deemed suspicious was identified Monday.

Victoria Sullenger, a 67-year-old San Diego resident, was found under a bridge near the intersection of W. Hawthorn and State streets around 3:45 a.m. Saturday morning, San Diego Police Lt. Anthony Dupree said.

Sullenger appeared to have suffered traumatic injuries but the cause was not known. SDPD Homicide Detectives were called to the scene "out of an abundance of caution," Dupree said.

The death remains under investigation. Anyone with information was asked to call SDPD's Homicide Unit at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
