San Diego Native Adam Driver to Host ‘SNL' Season Premiere

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” star Adam Driver will host the premiere of “Saturday Night Live” Sept. 29.

Driver, 34, was born in San Diego and moved to Indiana when he was seven.

He last hosted “SNL” in 2016 where he did a monologue partially about his time in the Marine Corps. Driver was stationed at Camp Pendleton as an 81mm mortar man assigned to the weapons platoon with 1st Battalion, 1st Marines after September 11.

He eventually left the Marines for acting, starring in the HBO series “Girls” and in 2015, he was cast as Kylo Ren in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Driver was most recently seen in “Blackkklansman.”

Kanye West will be the musical guest.

Driver returns to the “Star Wars” franchise in 2019.
