SD Homicide Detective About To Say Goodbye

Lt. Dennis Brugos is retiring.

A respected San Diego homicide investigator is retiring.

San Diego County Sheriff's Department Lt. Dennis Brugos has worked some of the county's most horrendous crimes for almost 30 years including the murders of Stephanie Crowe, Amber Dubois and Danielle Van Dam.

He says one of the cases that touched him the most was the murder of Poway teen, Chelsea King.

He's still baffled by the disappearance of the McStay family of Fallbrook whose family car was found near the border at San Ysidro.

Lt. Brugos' last day on the job will be March 30. He'll be hanging up his uniform to spend more  time with his grandkids.
