Running Red Handed

If you saw a guy, covered in red dye, running down the street -- the cops want to know about it.

A bank robber entered the Chase bank on the corner of Mission Bay Drive near Garnet Avenue around 4 p.m. Friday, police said.

The man gave a teller a demand note and claimed he had explosives with him, according to employees. After he got to the parking lot, a dye pack went off in the money he took.

"This dye pack left a red residue on him so one of his arms, probably his leg is peppered with a reddish dye,” police officer Ken Hubbs said.

The crook was last seen covered in red dye and running down an alley.

“He was last seen running southbound in the alley right here behind the bank down towards magnolia street," Hubbs said.

The man is described as in his 30s with a stocky build, bald head and was clean-shaven. He was last seen wearing a short-sleeve white shirt (covered in dye) and tan shorts.
