Royals Plan Trip to Golden State

So many options to choose from for the Royal couple.

Prince William and his new wife Kate are making summer travel plans that include a trip to California.

The Royal couple isn't saying where in the Golden State their feet will land, but according to Buckingham Palace it will happen in early July.

It will be the first official visit to the U.S. for the duke and the first ever visit to the states for Kate.

As a newlywed, who wouldn't want to visit the Golden Gate Bridge or sip wine in the Napa Valley? But while NorCal may have the sites, SoCal has the sounds of familiar voices. Soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria, who live in the west San Fernando Valley, were among the 1,800 wedding guests at the couple's nuptials last week and it isn't a stretch to think that the Royals would want to at least drop by and visit their friends while in the area.

There are also reports William and Kate may actually stay with former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver (who is the closest thing to American Royalty as member of the Kennedy family).

The three day visit, wherever it is, will be on July 8-10. It follows an official tour of Canada that begins on June 30.

In the St. James Palace announcement about the visit, it was clear this is not their official honeymoon. After the big wedding at Westminster Abby, the couple returned to their private home in Wales where William went right back to work as a Royal Air Force search-and-rescue pilot. Those honeymoon plans are still under wraps.
