Burglar Opens Fire During Home Invasion

An armed burglar opened fire on a Lincoln Acres man, who was chasing the prowler and an accomplice out of his home at about 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

No serious injuries were reported.

According to the Sheriff's Department, several adults and small children were asleep in their home in the 2600 block of Granger Avenue when they awoke to find two men in ski masks. At least one of the men was armed with a gun, a family friend said Saturday.

The two burglars attempted to flee, but a male resident chased them into the street. One of the pair opened fire on the resident, but missed.

It is still unclear if anything was stolen from the home.

A Sherriff's Department dispatch said no arrests have been made, and the two prowlers apparently ran away.
