A water service line broke in Mission Valley overnight, shutting down a section of Rio San Diego Drive.
City crews responded to reports of flooding in the eastbound lanes of Rio San Diego Drive around the 8700 block just after 2 a.m. Wednesday.
Water was gushing up from the ground right in front of the Promenade apartments across from the Office Depot and Sears in this area.
City crews began repairs right around 4 a.m.
They were able to open one eastbound lane of Rio San Diego before 7 a.m.
The pipe may feed the surrounding irrigation system or water to any of these near by apartments or businesses.
