Law enforcement officers raided a building located in a Kearny Mesa business park Friday afternoon, arresting several people.

Officers raided three office buildings and found a suspected marijuana grow and a potentially explosive butane hash oil extraction lab, right under the noses of unsuspecting employees next door.

Officers were working as part of a DEA Narcotics Task Force as they executed multiple state search warrants, DEA spokesperson Kameron D. Korte said.

Approximately eight people were detained, Korte said, adding that it was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. No further details would be released at this time.

A San Diego County Hazmat crew was called to help remove what was believed to be a butane hash oil extraction laboratory, according to the DEA.

Bundles of what appeared to be unprocessed marijuana plants were confiscated and bagged in the back of this pickup.

Agents pushed hand trucks stacked waist-high with the operation's inventory and records.

The business park houses insurance, home health-care and non-profit companies and organizations.

Some tenants say they weren't caught entirely off guard.

They had noticed several people hanging out after hours, on top of the buildings and in the parking lot.
