Walmart Drive-by Purse-Snatching Suspect Wanted

La Mesa police are looking for two suspects in the "drive-by purse snatching"

While a woman was putting shopping bags in her car outside the La Mesa Walmart, someone stole her purse right out of the cart police said.

It’s a common practice, leaving a purse or valuables in the cart while you put your groceries or other purchases in the vehicle.

When one woman did that Wednesday around 4:50 p.m. in Grossmont Center, two people drove up behind her and robbed her officials said.

A man leaned out of the window of a silver-colored Ford Ranger and grabbed the woman’s. The woman tried to hang on to the purse but the suspect and an unidentified driver drove away on Murray Drive.

Anyone with information can call the La Mesa Police Department (619) 667-1400.
