Power Restored to Poway Strip Mall After Crash Causes Outtage

A strip mall in Poway was out of power after a car crashed into a power line Thursday morning.

According to officials at the scene, two cars collided on Scripps Poway Parkway, causing one car to slam into a power line. The car flipped over and landed on its roof on the side of the road.

A mother and her 18-month old baby were in the car but officials say both appeared to be fine.

Both were transported to the hospital as a precaution.

The collision caused a power outage to hundreds of customers in the area, including a strip mall. As of around 1 p.m., power had been restored to more than 1,300 customers, according to San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E).

SDG&E crews will remain on scene to make repairs.
