A man crossing a Chollas View intersection in a marked crosswalk was struck by an oncoming vehicle Tuesday, police said.
The man was crossing 47th Street near Hartley Street at about 8 p.m. when a westbound black or possibly silver SUV struck him, the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) said.
The driver did not stay at the scene.
The pedestrian was transported by medics to the hospital and was suspected to survive his injuries.
Officers blocked the area to conduct an investigation. SDPD Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
