Pursuit, Crash, Pot Stash Seized

When police arrested the suspect, they say they found $15k in pot in his car

A police pursuit ended in a crash involving several vehicles and the discovery of $15,000 of illegal drugs in the suspect’s car according to officials.

San Diego police officers tried to pull over the driver of a Jeep Cherokee on University Avenue around 11:45 p.m. Thursday but the driver decided to take a sharp turn cutting off another vehicle instead.

Then, officers say the driver took off at a high rate of speed, drove into an alley and tried to turn onto Orange but lost control and slammed into several parked cars.

The unidentified man jumped out of the vehicle and tried to run from officers but they captured him and arrested him on multiple felony charges.

They include felony drug charges stemming from the discovery of more than 15 pounds of marijuana with a street value of approximately $15,000 in the vehicle according to officials.

No one was injured in the pursuit.
