Police Investigating Man Shot in East Village

Police are offering up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man that allegedly shot a man in San Diego's East Village. 

The victim is in critical condition after he was shot in the head in East Village and is not expected to survive, police said.

The incident happened at approximately 4:40 p.m. Saturday when San Diego Police officers were flagged down by two residents at the 1500 block of J Street.

Officers found a 47-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, police said. 

The victim was taken to UC San Diego hospital. He is in critical condition and is not expected to survive.

Police are investigating the incident and looking for the public's help in solving the attempted homicide.
