Plane Lands Upside Down

One patient was transported by helicopter

A single-engine plane crashed and landed upside down Saturday in Guejito Ranch.

The crash was reported about 11:10 a.m., just north of Escondido and east of Valley Center, San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Gary Steadman said.

The plane lost power so the pilot tried to land in a grassy field at Guejito Ranch, but the plane flipped, Schuler said.

The pilot, who was seen walking around afterwards, was taken to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla by helicopter with moderate injuries.
