Plane Lands Safely at Lindbergh Field After Brake Failure

A private jet with primary brake failure was able to land safely at San Diego International Airport on Saturday morning, officials said.

The plane, which had four people on board, reported the brake issue to air traffic control tower around 10:15 a.m., airport spokeswoman Rebecca Bloomfield said. The plane landed at 10:33 a.m., blew two rear tires upon landing but was able to taxi off the runway, she said.

Firefighters from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department were on standby but no one on the plane was hurt, Bloomfield said.

The runway was closed for roughly 10 minutes as the plane was moved to the general aviation area, she said.

Bloomfield did not know where the plane originated from.
