Man Shot in Groin in Apparent Drug Deal Gone Wrong Near Dave & Buster's

A 28-year-old man was shot in the groin area Sunday in an apparent drug deal that went south, police said.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. on the sidewalk of the 2600 block of Camino del Rio North, near Dave & Buster's, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The man, who was on parole, was attempting to buy drugs when the shooting happened, according to police.

The victim was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital to undergo surgery for a gunshot wound, police said.

His condition was unknown at this time.
