Pedicab Driver Not Charged With Passenger Death

A pedicab driver will not be charged Thursday in connection with the Fourth of July death of one of his passengers, prosecutors said.

Sukru Safa Cinar, 23, a Turkish resident in the U.S. on a work visa, was arrested Tuesday.

Police said Cinar was weaving in an area marked for pedestrians when Sharon Miller,60, slipped from the pedicab and struck her head on the ground. She was taken to a hospital and declared brain dead.

Cinar will be transferred to the custody of immigration officials, according a jail spokesperson.
