A pedestrian suffered major injuries after being hit by a car in Spring Valley, California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers said.
The crash happened around 5:28 p.m.when officers responded to a pedestrian down in a roadway on Campo and Conrad.
The victim appears to have suffered major injuries and a broken leg. The victim was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center.
Westbound lanes of traffic are blocked as officers investigate.
It is unclear if the car stayed on scene or drove off. At last update, officers did not have information on a suspect vehicle.
