Pedestrian, Struck by Car in Talmadge, Dies: PD

A pedestrian struck by a car in San Diego's Talmadge neighborhood has died, San Diego Police (SDPD) said. 

The collision happened at 9:22 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Aldine Drive and Fairmount Avenue when a 26-year-old crossing the street south of Fairmount Avenue. 

A 55-year-old man behind the wheel of a 2000 Nissan Maxima southbound on the same street struck the man, police said. The driver stopped at the scene, police said. 

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, where he died, police said. 

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected in the crash. 

The driver was not arrested. 

The crash is under investigation.
