Pedestrian Struck by Car in Mira Mesa

The collision was in the Mira Mesa Blvd. and Westmore Rd. intersection

 A woman was being treated for life-threatening injuries Saturday night after she was hit while crossing the road in Mira Mesa. 

According to San Diego Police, the 65-year-old woman was walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Westmore Road around 6:20 p.m. 

At the same time, a 30-year-old man driving a 2002 Jaguar made a left turn at the same intersection. 

The car struck the woman, who was taken to the nearest hospital for serious head trauma. Her identity has not been released.

The driver was not injured, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, police said. 

The crash is still under investigation.
