A pair of minor earthquakes rattled areas east of San Diego Saturday, according to automated seismographs.
The first quake, measured at a magnitude of 3.3, hit the Borrego Springs area at 4:24 a.m. No damage was reported from that shaker, which had an epicenter 52 miles northeast of San Diego.
The second quake, also with a magnitude of 3.3, hit the Salton Sea near Bombay Beach at 1:17 p.m. That sparsely-populated epicenter was 90 miles northeast of San Diego.
The quake reports come from automated seismographs and has not been verified by seismologists.
