A possibly armed man who indicated to neighbors he wasn't afraid to use his weapon has surrendered to police, and children are being released from a nearby elementary school on lockdown.
The standoff began shortly after 1 p.m. Monday when a neighbor called police and told them the man had a gun and was not afraid to use it on him or the police.
The suspect holed up in a building on the 4000 block of Coldwell Lane.
As a result, Juarez Lincoln Elementary School was placed on lockdown; parents can now pick up their kids.
