The crime happened at 1300 27th Street in Otay Mesa

A woman parking her car on a street in Otay Mesa was carjacked Friday night by a stranger who told her to look away, police said.

The incident happened at around 9:10 p.m. at 1300 27th Street. According to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), the victim’s window was rolled down and, as she parked her car, a man approached her.

That man told the woman to leave the car keys and get out, and told her not to look at him.

The suspect hopped into the victim’s car – a 2014 Dodge Journey with 20-inch rims – and drove away southbound on 27th Street. The woman was not hurt.

The victim was not able to provide police with a description of the suspect. The SDPD said the stolen car has tinted windows and the California license plate number 7UVB815. The case is under investigation.
