Remembering the Easter Day Quake

Monday marks the one year anniversary of the 7.2 earthquake that rattled San Diego County, the Imperial Valley and Mexicali.

On April 4, 2010, Easter Sunday the quake surprised many people as they began to sit down for Easter dinner.

The quake left parts of the Imperial Valley completely destroyed.

Previously, the largest earthquakes to hit the region was a 7.1 magnitude quake in Imperial Valley in 1940 and a 6.5 magnitude quake in Borrego Springs in 1968.
