Group Stabs Victim 5 Times in Streets of City Heights

The stabbing stemmed from a confrontation between three suspects and a victim on 44th Street in City Heights Tuesday evening

A man was taken to a hospital Tuesday evening after he was stabbed five times by a group of men on the streets of City Heights, the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) confirmed.

According to police, a 33-year-old man was in the 4000 block of 44th Street at around 4:35 p.m. when he got into a confrontation with three suspects in the street.

The trio stabbed the victim five times and yelled out gang challenges after the stabbing, police said. The victim suffered non-life threatening wounds and is expected to recover.

Police said one of the suspects was described as 6-foot-5 and around 240 pounds, wearing a red shirt and black jeans. The second suspect was stood at approximately 5-foot-7 with a muscular build; he wore his hair in dreadlocks. The third suspect was only described as having a heavy build.

The trio was last seen getting into a dark-colored, SUV-style vehicle, driving northbound on 44th Street.

The investigation is ongoing, with the SDPD’s Gang Unit taking the lead on the case. At this point, police do not know what led to the confrontation between the men in the first place.
