One Medical – a provider of what it touts as tech-centric primary care – opened the first of its three San Diego locations. 

Its downtown location recently debuted, with a Carlsbad and La Jolla office set to open in the fall. Along with physical locations, the San Francisco company offers round-the-clock virtual care, complete with a video tool for patients to consult physicians.

One Medical has not only a direct-to-consumer model, but also employers add One Medical to their health benefits package. Locally, the company partnered with UC San Diego Health, promoted as a way to better coordinate primary and specialty care.

San Diego marked One Medical’s ninth market.
