Old San Diego Trolleys Have New Home: Argentina

Old MTS trolleys are heading south

What happens to old San Diego trolley cars?  They go to Argentina

The state of Mendoza in Argentina is buying four of the old trolleys for $1.2 million dollars.  Those trolleys have been in service more than 20 years and have logged more than 2 million miles.

Mendoza will use them on a new light rail system that starts up next year.  MTS is replacing the old trolley cars with those new, low-floor cars that have been used on the Green Line.
