Prowler Performs Lewd Acts in Girls' Bedroom

Suspect broke into the bedroom of a home on Seasons Road where two girls were sleeping

Oceanside police are searching for a man who broke into a home and performed lewd acts in front of two girls.

The suspect broke into a bedroom where two girls were sleeping shortly after 2 a.m. Monday according to Oceanside police

The unidentified man entered the room through the window of the home on Seasons Road located east of Interstate 5.

The man spoke with the girls and made physical contact with them police said. The girls started to make noise in an attempt to wake their mother. That's when the man left out of the same window without taking the girls.

A police helicopter circled the neighborhood looking for the suspect. Officers also called in to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department for help. Deputies brought a K-9 unit to help search the area as well.

Officials told NBC 7 San Diego that the family was doing surprisingly well given what happened.

“The oldest daughter was talking to us,” said Sgt.Richard Schicke. “Very specific, very calm, and that’s certainly going to help us going forward.”

The oldest daughter was able to give officials a very specific description of the man down to the color of his socks. She told police she did not know the man.

Aside from his clothing, here's the suspect description: short, thin build, in his 20s.

Despite some media reports, police say this doesn’t appear to be an attempted kidnapping.
