Homeless Man's Body Found with Head Injuries

The medical examiner are investigating to determine the cause of death

A homeless man was found dead Thursday afternoon in Oceanside with head injuries, police said.

The man's body was found around 2:50 p.m. on South Ocean Boulevard near Oceanside Town & Country, Oceanside police Lt. Kedrick Sadler said.

The man was found on the ground not breathing with head injuries, he said.

The victim has a history of drug abuse and it was unknown if he fell while under the influence, Oceanside police spokesman Tom Bussey said. 

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's office will investigate the death to determine the cause, he said.

His identity was being withheld pending notification of next of kin, Bussey said.
