Oceanside Housing Division Manager Arrested for Felony Child Molestation

The Division Manager for the Housing Division Team in the City of Oceanside has resigned after being arrested for charges of felony child molestation.

David Manley, 46, is charged with committing a felony lewd and lascivious act on a child under the age of 14. Deputies arrested Manley on September 29 at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

According to court documents, the alleged incidents involving a child took place on or about March 10, 2008 through March 9, 2010. Manley is one of two people listed in the court documents for child molestation charges.

He had worked for the City of Oceanside for 20 years before his resignation on last week.

NBC 7 reached out to Oceanside officials who told us that Manley was first hired as a Technical Assistant in 1995. He was later promoted to Division Manager and has worked in that position until his resignation last week. The city did not offer a comment on the charges for Manley.

He is currently being held in a jail in San Bernardino County on $500,000 bail. He has pleaded not guilty to the charge.

If convicted, Manley could face time in prison and will have to register as a sex offender.

He is expected to appear in court on Thursday.
