The San Onofre Nuclear Generating System planned to test its alert siren system on Wednesday.
The test was scheduled for 10 a.m. and would likely be heard by people in the area, including those at Camp Pendleton and nearby San Onofre State Beach.The test would feature a steady tone, which will activate several times and run for three minutes each time.
The tests are scheduled to last until noon, according to officials.
