From skateboarders swooping and turning to the sounds of rock music, to city officials and parents watching nearby, everyone agreed on one thing ---- the city's newest skate park is an excellent idea, our media partner the North County Times reported.
"I love it," said 13-year-old Danny Figueroa, an eighth-grader at Cesar Chavez Middle School told the paper. "This is my new second home ---- I don't eat, just put on my clothes and, bam, it's off to the skate park."
While the park has been in use since late January, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony was Saturday afternoon at the Melba Bishop Recreation Center before a crowd of more than 250 people.
The skate park is open seven days a week from dawn until dusk at 5306 North River Road.
