San Diego's Mount Hope neighborhood is getting a face-lift.
The beautification project will include two landscaped center medians and new streetlights.
The medians will be added along Market Street, from Boundary to 41st Streets.
Also 20 streetlights will be installed on adjacent streets.
City leaders say the better lighting will make it safer for people who walk in this area.
"It's been a concern for the community for quite a bit of time,” said Michael Fakhoury with the City of San Diego. “We finally got some money from recovery money and HUD."
Mount Hope's beautification project will take about six months and will cost about $ 459,000.
