Car Slams Into Busy Restaurant in National City

A car slammed into a busy restaurant in National City Tuesday, injuring three people and damaging an aquarium, tables and chairs as well as the front windows of the building.

About 20 customers were eating inside the restaurant called Pho 7 Cow located at 1025 Highland Avenue when the crash occurred just after 2 p.m.

The driver of a maroon mid-sized Infiniti crashed into the eatery, causing damage to the seating area.

Three people were injured. At least two went to a nearby hospital. 

One of those injured was an employee who was cleaning a table at the front of the restaurant, the owner told NBC 7. 

The other two people injured were two "regulars" who were having lunch, the owner said.

He is devastated about the damage but said he is relieved the injuries were not worse.

A few dozen fish in an aquarium inside the restaurant died in the crash.
