A fire engulfed a house in National City Sunday evening, officials confirmed.
The blaze began around 6:30 p.m. at a home in the 900 block of East 6th Street. When fire crews arrived, heavy smoke could be seen stemming from the home. There were also flames shooting from the roof.
A homeowner was home with his two dogs at the time of the fire but he was able to safely evacuate. No injuries were reported.
Further details were not immediately released. The fire is under investigation.
