The suspect in a fatal Valencia Park shooting is in custody, police said Saturday.
Jesse Garcia, 23, was arrested at 11:45 p.m. Friday in the 4000 block of Ohio Street.
Phillip Aguilar, 26, was shot at 2:30 p.m. Friday, inside his home in the 5200 block of Santa Margarita Street. That is in the Valencia Park neighborhood of San Diego. Aguilar was taken to the hospital, where he died a few hours later.
Two men were with the victim just before the shooting, said investigators. Neighbors heard the gunshots and saw the men flee the scene, they said.
There’s no word on the motive for the shooting.
Garcia is in county jail facing one count of first-degree murder.
