Mountain Lion Spotted Near School

San Diego County sheriff's deputies searched the area around a Fallbrook elementary school after the report of a mountain lion.

A woman called deputies around 8:30 a.m. Sunday saying she saw a mountain lion near William H. Frazier Elementary School on Gum Tree Lane.

The school is closed for the month of July. Staff and students were not on campus at the time of the sighting.

A search for the animal came up empty but three other witnesses confirmed the sighting.

Deputies say the California Fish and Game officials have been notified.
