Mountain Lion Crashes Through Family's Door

Feline was met with husband and wife's screams

A Palomar Mountain family hosted an unexpected guest on Sunday, one with four legs, sharp teeth, and a suspected appetite for one of the household cats.

At 10:20 p.m., long after dinner had ended and with a quiet evening winding down, a mountain lion burst through the back door of the Robarts family's two-story rural home and ran into the living room where it was met with screams.

David Robarts and wife Nancy Robarts, an elementary school teacher who was grading papers during the encounter, told NBC San Diego media partner The North County Times they believed their startled impulse scared the stranger away.
