Motorcyclists Ride for Injured Veteran

Escondido Resident Michael Fox lost two legs and injured his arm in Afghanistan.

A motorcycle ride took place in El Cajon Saturday afternoon to raise money for a veteran who lost both his legs and damaged his left arm in Afghanistan.

The ride honors 27-year-old Rancho Bernardo grad Michael Fox, according to our media partners, the North County Times.

Hundreds of motorcyclists met up at 9:30 a.m. at the El Cajon Harley Davidson and ride to the Santee Street Fair for a Memorial Day event.

Proceeds will benefit the Wounded Marine Fund, which is hoping to buy a special truck from Heller Ford in Escondido for Fox.

Fox joined the Marines four years ago. While on foot patrol in Afghanistan, he stepped on an explosive device, which took both his legs off and damaged his left arm, the event’s organizer Curtis Gandy told the NCT.
